The Legend of the Warrior and the Maiden

The relationship between the warrior and the maiden is one of the most potent highlights of Deborra Cameron’s Emotional Mastery program, producing astonishing results for clients who have tried it!

This summer, why not open the Emotional Mastery toolbox and use the process of the inner Warrior and Maiden to breathe some HEAT into the lungs of less dominant aspect of our self!

The Inner Warrior

With so many students – men and women – the warrior within, is alive and well! The traits most often associated with the warrior are: provider, protector, the logical thinker or the proactive one. The warrior often strives to protect the maiden, often silencing her with his determination to get the job done, and to get it done now. People can often relate to the ‘warrior of survival’, dismissing time for creativity or allowing their true purpose to emerge, to focus on reality, such as paying the bills.
Deborra often depicts the warrior, as wearing a full set of armor: heavy-laden with responsibilities and with no time for reflection. The warrior thinks of bills to be paid, often taking on the burdens of others in his life. He frequently feels alone and that no one truly understands his plight. He has little time to ‘enjoy’ life or to smell the roses. The overly used and under paid warrior often speaks of shoulder and neck issues, lower back pain, hip or knee aches and sciatic nerve issues.

The Inner Maiden

More often, according to statistics, people report an absence of the inner maiden. “Don’t misunderstand: many people report a strong maiden and an absent warrior, but for the purpose of this article though, the average will be discussed. Everyone’s experience is completely normal and right for them”, Deborra is quick to respond.
People with an absent maiden typically report a heavy feeling in the chest, sore neck and shoulders, elbow or wrist issues, and occasionally numbness in the upper limbs. Quite often they have throat issues, clearing their throat or a weak sounding voice at times, even an actual feeling of being strangled. Sometimes a ring or redness can appear on the neck for no apparent reason.
Deborra says an endless expression of tears is not unusual with people reporting a missing maiden, and when they believe they don’t know her at all, they can feel overcome with desperation, extreme sadness and endless tears. “It’s common for people to report a sadness that just can’t be explained.”
The attributes of the maiden, are that of gentleness, kindness, creativity, a sense of openness, artistry, a strong spiritual connection, and well-developed intuition. The maiden may also be sensuous, graceful, and have a keen sense of ‘knowing’.
“In a recent Ottawa workshop, after day one, a student created an incredible vision board of her absent maiden, depicting the attributes she longs for in such a creative, astonishing way. She glowed as she stood up in class on day two, sharing the beautiful attributes of her now present maiden.” After the class, she continued to work with the maiden and other tools, awakening to the missing part of herself and embracing her beautiful inner maiden. “She finally gave her maiden back her voice!” says Cameron.

Getting in touch

People often ask, “How can I get in touch with the Inner Warrior or Maiden?” and Deborra explains it is a powerful step to begin the inner journey of discovering the connection an individual has with these two aspects of self. After reading this far, some people may already have a strong sense of where they are at and which aspect may be their more dominant, but it is such an enriching and enlightening exploration to go through the Emotional Mastery process!
Is your warrior or maiden missing? Deborra recommends starting a warrior and maiden journal, checking in with both each day and making a list of the present traits of the warrior and maiden. By doing this, you can more accurately see where each is at, surprising yourself with your actual familiarity with the less dominant aspect, when you may have assumed it was absent. The next step is to make a list of your DESIRED attributes of the warrior and maiden, or even to create a vision board for both warrior and maiden, as you would desire to see them. The ultimate end result is union between the two. Then and only then can you report a feeling of completeness!
Through awareness and intention, you can instantly connect with these two powerful aspects of self, Deborra assures. ‘Listen for the voice of the maiden. Ask her a question, and open your heart to her response. An example would be “maiden, how would you respond to this current situation?” Watch for the signs of exhaustion from the warrior. How does your body feel? Is he in fight or flight, or is he strong, self assured and balanced?’
At any time your maiden can call on several warrior attributes to help her in any given situation, as can the warrior call on the potent attributes of the maiden, when he needs inner knowing, or a ‘gut’ feeling on how to handle a situation. The warrior may require a little gentleness and spiritual involvement, instead of bashing forward as typically programmed, in order to observe and respond vs. react.

“The unity of the warrior and maiden is the intended goal for all of us. Your dominant aspect of self is potent and powerful, and your present attributes amazing!” Cameron goes on to say, “There may simply be a bit of unbalance that is preventing you from reaching the emotional symmetry we all crave.”

Emotional Blueprint and Intuitive Reflexology

Introduction:

I have a nursing background and have been a certified reflexologist since the year 1995. My love of this art has been a huge part of my working world for all of these years, and I am now, wanting to share with other practitioners and reflexologists, the work I have developed over the past 19 years.

Traditional Reflexology to me is a gift, both to those who practice it, and also the huge benefits it brings our clients. By connecting ‘sole to soul’, I have received immeasurable intuitive insights that have proven very effective in assisting my clients to understand their emotional patterning, and to bring their emotions into a better place of balance. Once the emotions are released from the cellular memory of the body, I have had the enormous pleasure in observing clients relieve their often paralyzing emotions, as well as often relieving or totally shifting the physical body of chronic pain, digestive issues, migraines, much to many to mention!

I have studied the Chinese medical Model since the year 2000, and became certified in Qi Gong the same year. I apply these also, ancient teachings within my intuitive reflexology sessions and entitle the work, ‘Emotional Blueprint’. I believe, as many would agree, that the body is the last to let go of the emotional experience. A person can visit a psychologist for ten years and still be riddled with chronic pain and the same emotional issues that are triggered over and over again. I also believe that imbalanced emotion, experienced repeatedly, is often the foundation for physical disease and pain.

In accessing the reflexes of the feet I am able to chart the course, linking ‘sole to soul’, through the actual reflexes and the soul of the client I am working with. The intuitive process kicked in immediately, as so as I started working with clients, and reflexology is the route I feel that is most ideal for enriching the clients experience, physically as we explore the emotional process. With working on the feet, the client and myself are able to connect through the eyes, and the reflexology involves a less invasive process, whereby trust can readily
be experienced.

The ancient Taoist masters of China, believed and taught that specific emotions are stored in the vital organs of the body. The organs support one another in what is referred to as the ‘Cycle of Creation’. Together, we tap into the genetics of the ‘Emotional Blueprint’..feel it, understand it’s origin and most importantly, dissolve the pattern, to free you of it’s grip!

The Ancient Practice of Qi Gong

Claiming back the Responsibility for your own Health With The Ancient Practice of Qi Gong

Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gung, also spelled Chi Kung) is translated from the Chinese to mean “energy cultivation” or “working with life energy.” Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese system of postures, movements, breathing techniques, and meditations. Qi Gong techniques are designed to improve and enhance the bodyʼs vital health. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, qi is the fundamental life energy responsible for health and vitality. Qi Gong originated before recorded history. Scholars estimate Qi Gong to be as old as 5,000 – 7,000 years.

Deborra has been a practitioner, student and instructor of Qi Gong for the past sixteen years. “It seemed to come naturally for me …as though I had always known it! Deborra with her background in Nursing has been practicing Reflexology since 1995, and applies Qi Gong, and her Chinese Medical knowledge directly to her practice. It recently has been scientifically proven, that the cells of the body store memory. The ancient and traditional Chinese teachers believe that imbalanced emotion stored in specific vital organs, cause harm and disease within the cellular tissue of the body, this leads to hardening of the tissue and the body begins to become vulnerable to illness and disease. The postures and visuals through the use of sound and colour transform the imbalanced negative emotion into a positive experience for the body, therefore assists in regaining the vitality of the body!

Deborra studied under Master Mantak Chia of Thailand. Master Chia is a taoist master who has studied and adopted his own unique techniques throughout his teachings and study with many famous taoist Masters. Qi Gong survived through many years of Cultural Revolutions in China in the 1960ʼs and 1970ʼs. Master Chi helped to revive many of the ancient practices that were passed down in secrecy among the Masters for many generations. Master Chia has a very refreshing outlook in that he desires to share what he knows, and also to encourage the student to blossom with the practices in accordance with their own individual philosophy and intuition.

The Physical Benefits of Qi Gong are clinically documented through research through the National Qi Gong Association. Deborra is very excited in finding the positive results that her students are experiencing through their practices. Students report increased energy and a reduction in effects of stress. They report better sleep patterns, and a calmer outlook on life. There are
noticeable improvements from people who suffer from arthritis, anxiety disorders, Crohnʼs disease, high blood pressure and glaucoma. Regular practice can minimize the effects of diabetes.

Studies also show that postoperative recovery time can be dramatically shortened. Qi Gong is very effective for most chronic conditions and relief of pain. A University of Miami medical report recently reported that Qi Gong profoundly improved the lives of teenagers with ADHD, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder. This is a profound finding because, a national organization of geniuses told ABC News a few years ago that they are concerned that Americaʼs next generation of geniuses may be being drugged into normalcy. They say that given current criteria, Einstein,
Edison, and most others who changed history would have been diagnosed with ADD and drugged to make them “fit in.“

The classes generally are 1.5 hours in length. Beginner classes focus on warm up exercises and the Six Healing Sounds and the Inner smile Meditation. The Microcosmic Orbit is also taught and understood as the two main energy channels that the life force energy, or Chi follows. The meditations and warm up exercise enhance the efficiency and opening of these channels. “WE have a lot of fun in class”, states Deborah. “My personal belief is that laughter is indeed the best medicine!”

“Qi Gong offers us the opportunity to connect with our inner selves. So much of our life is direct outward, and we loose our energy and wonder why it is that we are so fatigued!

Deborra Cameron

Qi Gong directs our attention inward and we begin to appreciate the inner workings of our body. Students begin to realize that they are in charge of their own well-being, and their own Health. They begin to dig deeper into their own desires for life, and too begin to tap the resources of their dreams and lifeʼs purpose!
